This year marks the 24th year in a row AccessVision volunteers will have braved the cold weather to bring all the sights and sounds of the Annual Battle Creek Christmas Parade to the warmth of the viewer’s living room.

AccessVision will begin its 24th season of “High School Sports” this fall when St. Patrick takes on St. Phil @ C.W. Post Field on August 24th.

Each game will be videotaped during the week for transmission on channel 17 & digital cable channel 917 that Saturday at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. and will air for a fourth time Monday at 4 p.m., unless otherwise noted *.

On October 1, AccessVision announced the  launch of BCCurrent.org, an innovative website, organizers say will spark civic engagement in Battle Creek’s neighborhoods by providing residents with a powerful new tool for sharing news and information. Organizers are inviting local residents who want to share their stories. The multimedia site is a project of AccessVision with support from the Battle Creek Enquirer and the Battle Creek Community Foundation.

AccessVision Wins Regional Awards

Each year, the Alliance For Community Media Central States Region salutes the best community programming with a regional competition, the Philo T. Farnsworth Video Festival. AccessVision has once again been honored with a total of four "Philo" awards and nominations for two Overall Excellence Awards for its programming.

Long-time AccessVision volunteer Sherrill Smith Cotton was a Finalist in the Religious - Non-Professional category for her program, "Emmanuel Kingdom News".

Downtown Phase I Now Open

Michigan Avenue from Carlyle to McCamly is open for thru traffic. McCamly Street from State Street to Jackson Street is open for thru traffic. Access Drive to Jackson Street is also open to thru traffic.
 
Please use marked crosswalks to cross Michigan Avenue and McCamly as traffic will be flowing through these areas.
 

High School Sports Fall 2011 schedule

AccessVision will begin its 23rd season of “High School Sports” this fall when Kalamazoo Central travels to the Cereal City to do battle with the Battle Creek Central on August 26th in the oldest rivalry of the state.
Each game will be videotaped during the week for transmission on channel 17 & digital cable channel 917 that Saturday at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. and will air for a fourth time Monday at 4 p.m., unless otherwise noted *. AccessVision To Air Local High School Graduation Ceremonies

Once again this year, the volunteers and staff of AccessVision, Battle Creek’s Community Access Cable Station, have recorded the graduation ceremonies of Battle Creek Central and Lakeview High Schools. The ceremonies will air on Comcast Channel 17 for the next two weeks as well as streaming on AccessVision's website.
 
The air times for Battle Creek Central’s ceremony are:
Thurs. 6/16 @ 7 p.m.

Fri. 6/17 @ 6 p.m.

Sat. 6/18 @ 12 noon

Sun. 6/19 @ 3 p.m.
 
The air times for Lakeview High School’s ceremony are:
Wed. 6/15 @ 3 p.m.


New Monday Hours

AccessVision is changing its hours of operation in the new year. Starting January 10th, we will be open on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours for the rest of the week will remain unchanged:
Sundays: 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Mondays: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturdays: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
 

Holiday Parade

This year marks the 22nd year in a row that AccessVision staff and volunteers have braved the cold weather to bring all of the sights and sounds of the Annual Battle Creek Holiday Parade to the warmth of the viewer's living room.The parade is planned and executed every year by the volunteers of the Harper Creek Optimist Club. Long-time volunteer Teresa Durham hosted the parade, along side Harper Creek Optimist himself, Jim Demarest.
