Final Cut Pro X is the latest version of Apple’s pro non-linear editor. Built to meet the needs of today’s creative editors, it breaks free from the restrictions of old-fashioned timeline tracks. A dynamic editing interface lets you experiment freely while working with extraordinary speed and precision.
Final Cut Pro X features 64-bit processing, which means it can natively handle high definition footage, display effects without rendering and, in general, just do everything faster.
AccessVision now has Final Cut Pro X installed in all of the edit rooms and on the editing kits. You must be trained first before using Final Cut Pro X, but there is no cost for existing editors to take the new class. The new "Editing" workshop runs for four sessions total:
- Session 1 - Mac Basics
- Session 2 - Final Cut Pro X Basics
- Session 3 - Tutorial: hands-on editing time
- Session 4 - Advanced Final Cut Pro
While Final Cut Pro X is the future of editing, Final Cut Pro 7 and iMovieHD are still available for users who prefer using the older programs. All new volunteers will be trained in Final Cut Pro X, at a cost of $30. Workshops will be repeated monthly, contact Jason Augenstein to enroll.
